Winter Activities

Hi Folks,
What an incredible fall this has been and a great start to the school year. Students have been able to stay active during recesses with the weather being so cooperative. Our after school volleyball was a huge success with anywhere from 41 to 25 kids from grades 4, 5, and 6 participating. Lunch hour volleyball intramurals were also a huge success with over 80 per cent of the grade 4, 5, 6 student population participating.
Upon return from Christmas break we will begin after school basketball on Wed. Jan. 6th and this will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:30. I will run 8 basketball sessions followed by 8 floor hockey sessions. Once again this is open to students in grades 4, 5, and 6. Our final after school activity day will be Wed. Mar. 10th. We are starting Danish Handball intramurals during lunch hours starting Monday, Nov. 30th. These will run until Dec. 10th and stop as a result of Christmas activities and will resume when we get back from break. All intramurals are from 12:10 to 12:40 on days 1, 3, and 5.
A number of other activities are upcoming next term such as the grade 6 learn to curl program [ date to be announced ], winter Olympic day in February for all students, and Fort Whyte Nature Centre on Monday, Feb. 8th for students in grades 4, 5, and 6.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with friends and family and should you have any questions in regards to the PE program please do not hesitate to call me at 864-2868.
